Toddlers have the opportunity to follow basic instructions, including the proper way to use eating utensils, and how to sit properly in chairs. This age group is usually at the introduction portion of using the toilet, and is offered the opportunity to do so, many times during the day. An educational atmosphere helps the children learn to recognize their names and letters, along with colors and shapes. Toddlers are very inquisitive and are encouraged to explore the room at their own free will, as we feel that is the best way to help them learn. Although we encourage the introduction of group time, they have very short attention spans, and are not expected to sit longer than they are able. Toddlers are also able to participate in a few local field trips that are age appropriate. This age group is so fun to be around, as they are just learning to explore their independence, and I encourage all parents to feel free to participate in our classroom, along with field trips, at any time that they are able.
