We believe in the value of play for young children. It is through this process of spontaneous choice, decision-making and social interaction that children learn many of the skills that carry them through adulthood. Children's play is their work. As they build with blocks, they learn about shapes, balance, volume and space; caring for babies (dolls) teaches them about being a mommy or daddy; making a mess with paint or clay builds attention space and concentration skills; cooking or baking helps children learn pre-math skills and the ability to follow directions; pretend play opens up many avenues for childrens' imaginations and for learning about topics that interest them. Children are preparing for tomorrow through their playing today.
